Richard has over twenty-five years of residential and commercial Interior Design experience working in Boston, New York, Oregon, Florida, and the Carolinas before choosing Huntsville as his Home. He earned his BFA in Interior Design, Cum Laude, from Winthrop University in 1990 while working as the Project Director for Winthrop's Campus Planning & Design Department. Richard's experience in Boston & Manhattan with Domain Home over the next ten years allowed him to work with many clients throughout the world. He is the Interior Designer for many of Huntsville's premier home builders and real estate developers including:

Richard took the step of sitting for the two day National Council for Interior Design Qualifications Exam (NCIDQ) in the Spring of 2009. He earned the highest level of Interior Design Qualification in his first attempt in taking the exam. A rarity among potential design professionals. The NCIDQ exam focuses on Building & Life Safety Codes,
Handicapped Accessibility, Professional Practice, and Design Programming.

In the state of Alabama, once a designer has graduated from an approved and tested Interior Design Program, has a number of years of design work experience, and then passes the NCIDQ Exam they may become an RID, which is a State Registered and Licensed Interior Designer. As an RID in Alabama, Richard has the ability to submit drawings for permit in commercial projects under 5,000 square feet and in single family residential projects of unlimited square footage. Richard's also a very talented Decorator and Artist.

Brittan is the newest member of the Richard Cable Team. Brittan is a Spring 2011 Graduate of the University of North Alabama with a degree in Interior Design. She brings a young and refreshing presence to the team with innovative and Award Winning ideas and design concepts. She assists richard in all of his design projects and acts as a liaison for all of Richard's design clients.
